ORIENTATION AND SKILLS REFRESHER COURSES FOR:

DREDGE OWNERS, OPERATORS, FINANCIERS/CONSULTANTS,
DREGEMASTERS AND ENGINEERS AND MEAs
DECKHANDS AND SAND STOCKPILE SITE FIELD STAFF, ETC.

This is a combination of Dredger introductory, familiarization and refresher courses for Owners/Operators, Dredgemasters/Engineers and Financiers/Consultants of Dredgers and Dry Plants on the one hand; and various categories of Deckhands/sand stockpile field staff, etc on the other hand. To begin to address the massive need for knowledge and information by operators and employees in the dredging sector, all interested persons who fit into the sector and service providers invited to attend.

Dredger environment: do’s and don’ts (Basic housekeeping – what a deck hand is likely to face onboard the dredger.)
Rigging ropes and splicing wires
Maintenance of the vessel – (Painting, chipping, greasing and keeping clean ship
Mooring ships in low and high tides
Working with cranes, anchors, winches, etc.
Watch-keeping and logs.
Fire-fighting and First Aid, bandaging and gauze application.
Work attires and safety apparel.

Some mining dredge makers have indicated interest to come in and deliver talks on available equipment for dredging and other mining purposes.
